Black Ginger is also known as, Krachai Dum, Black Turmeric, Black Galingale, Thai Ginseng and Kaempferia Parviflora. Black Ginger should not be confused withKaempferol (an isolated flavonoid), Turmeric (looks similar) or different active compounds).

Black ginger is mostly found in the subtropical and tropical areas. It bears various pharmacological properties such as anticancerous, anti-allergic, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and antimicrobial.

It can be used in cosmetics as natural anti-aging agent. These extracts have shown anticancer activities against cervical cancer, pancreatic cancer, gastric ulcer, ovarian cancer etc.
